Message from Dr. Rhodes
I hope all of our Bryant families are doing well!! One quick announcement-- if you are one of our early cars in line for car rider drop off in the mornings, please go ahead and pull up in front of the school. You do not need to wait at the merge sign. We have everyone wait at the merge sign in the afternoons so we can make sure we have all dismissal car numbers recorded accurately.
Reminder: No School on Monday, September 6th!
From Our Counselors
We continue to focus on Respect this week at Bryant Elementary by seeing good in people and things and treating them with care. In our newsletter last week, we highlighted the activity of a real or virtual Family Field Trip to experience a culture with similarities and differences to our own personal one. At Bryant, we are excited to explore this concept even further right here at our campus. On Thursday, September 30th, we will be hosting our very first Annual Multicultural Festival! Please consider volunteering to showcase your heritage or culture during our festival. Volunteer forms will be going home this week. If you would like to participate, please return the volunteer form by September 10th.
While respect is integral to the Bengal Code of Honor, we will be aiming our attention on Responsibility in September. To kick off this character trait, we invite all children and staff to wear orange next Wednesday, September 8th.
Finally, we have started guidance lessons with 2nd - 5th this week and will continue with PK - 1st next week! We have enjoyed getting to interact with our Bryant classes to talk to them about the counseling program at Bryant. We are letting the kiddos know how they can self-advocate if they would like to visit with us. If we can help you in any way, please feel free to contact us at:

Dismissal Instructions & Procedures
Please click the links in Dr. Rhodes' Message above for Arrival/Dismissal Maps
This year we will continue to offer each family a unique dismissal tag color and number. For example, if you have multiple children attending Bryant living in the same household, you will receive a dismissal number with one set of car tags for your family. This will be available at Meet the Teacher. This system allows us to account for each student and maintain proper security measures. Student safety is always a priority!
Car riders stage for dismissal via double stack lanes in our car rider lane which wraps behind the school. Staff members will be entering your dismissal number and color into a Google Doc which is shared inside the school. It is imperative that once you have entered the left or right lane, you cannot change lanes. This causes great challenges because staff members are staging students inside using the order recorded in the Google Doc. If you are picking up your child as a car rider, please use the HANGING TAGS provided for you. If families are carpooling, a great idea is to use a hanger with clips to show more than one dismissal number on your rear-view mirror. Please hang the tag(s) from the rear view mirror, not in the corner of the window. If you do not have the physical number for the child or children you are picking up, you will not be able to pick up a child from the car rider line. See map below for more directions. Please watch this video for an overview of our car rider system.
On our transportation survey above, you can tell us your child’s teacher and the name of their daycare bus.
Students in PK-1st will be released to an adult only. If you have a PK-1st grader that you would like to walk home with an older sibling, please see the directions in the manila envelope provided during Meet the Teacher. The older sibling will not need a dismissal number to pick up their younger sibling. Parents MUST have the physical dismissal number in your hand in order to pick up your PK-1st grade child from school. If you do not have the number in your hand you will be asked by a staff member to go to the front office. Students in 3rd-5th will leave campus on their own, and will not need a dismissal number in order to exit the building.

The Katy ISD Transportation Department is excited to communicate that all 2021 – 2022 route buses continue to be equipped with GPS systems. With the GPS systems, parents, campuses and transportation personnel are able to track buses in real-time through a downloadable application from Edulog. For parents and patrons having children who are eligible for transportation services in Katy ISD, click here for information on how to download the application. Bryant's campus code is: 69167016
Click here for step-by-step instructions for how to install the app and track our buses.
Bryant Elementary Parent and Student Handbook
