~Westmoor Update~
Week of January 30th
Principal's Message
Dear Westmoor Families,
With extreme sadness, we send our prayers to families of the victims who lost their lives in the communities of Half Moon Bay and Monterey Park Los Angeles County as they experience tragic loss from the mass shooting events. Safety of our students, staff and community will always be our highest priority at Westmoor High School. Our Big Five: Immediate Action Emergency Response for Schools (Shelter in place, drop, cover and hold on, secure campus, lock down and barricade, and evaluation) are practiced on a routine basis. We will continue our practice drills this week. Our safety team meets after every drill to evaluate and refine our practices to ensure safety for all. All outside perimeter doors are locked when our children are in class. All guests must be checked in at the front office. All visitors must wear a visitor's pass while on campus. All administrators and campus supervisors circulate the campus throughout the day keeping a careful eye on everyone. School cameras are located throughout the school and outside in the perimeter areas to enhance safety. Transparent communication with our families is vital in keeping everyone informed and is a high priority of our district and school administration.
Respectfully,
Brockton Ahrens
