SOARIN' STUDENT of the Month: Christopher Jones
About Christopher
When asked interesting facts about herself, Chris shares that he loves to draw and enjoys hispanic food as well. You can find him watching TV quite often, and he has taken a recent interest in working out.
His favorite classes being Biology and Business & Technology, Christopher loves his time here at SCELA because his teachers are respectful to him. When asked his advice for other students who want to keep up with their work and SOAR, he comments:
"One thing that I do is that for each day, I focus on one class and do all the work that is supposed to be done for the week for that class. When I am done with all my classwork for that subject for that day, I move on to the next. Stay on track and don't be lazy; be organized."
Chris clearly lets us know it's hard work which helps one succeed the most, and we know he'll use that drive as he accomplishes his life goals. These goals are to have his own art museum and be a film director. In fact, New York and California are definitely his dream states in terms of living and working. Just remember your teachers, Chris, when you release that first movie!
Chris's SOARIN' shout out goes to Ms. Ennis and for all the effort she places into her classes. In fact, when asked about Chris, his teachers say he has put so much effort into his studies this year and really has been working hard to work ahead. We are so proud!
Congratulations, Christopher! We are so happy to have you leading by example at SCELA.

Stoplight Learner Levels
We will continue to use the learner levels you were last given in an email from teachers for the first two weeks of the new nine weeks.
GREEN:
Those on the GREEN learner level are completing work on time and/or ahead of schedule when matched to the Its Learning Schedule. As a GREEN learner, your student may attend class daily, but they are only REQUIRED to check in on Wednesday.
YELLOW:
Those on the YELLOW learner level are completing at least 70% of work with a passing average but may have a few assignments missing when compared to the teacher's Its Learning Schedule. As a YELLOW learner, your student may attend class every day, but they are only REQUIRED to be in live class Zoom sessions on Tuesday and Thursday
RED:
Those on the RED learner level have less than 70% of assigned work complete and/or May be failing the coursework. These learners may include those who have had late starts due to technology issues or start date. As a RED learner, students will attend live class Zoom sessions daily. **Teachers may decide to require fewer sessions-no less than 3- for red students depending on individual situation.**
*Important Note: Learner Levels (The Stoplight Student System) are fluid and will be reevaluated at regular data intervals to ensure your student is receiving the support he/she needs. Students can change learner levels as a result.
