Peek At The Week!
Week of 11/18/19
Principal's Message...
As a leader, it is important that I seek challenging opportunities to change, grow, innovate and improve- not only at a learning organizational level, but also on a personal level. Taking risks and encouraging others to do so can create a culture that truly promotes growth mindset, something I know we hold as a core value at PDES.
As part of my professional growth goals, I will be studying my leadership practices through self-assessment and reflection to help me set individual professional goals. I will be working with an NPIN coach and use a core leadership practices rubric to strive for continuous improvement.
At Thursday's Professional Development/Faculty Meeting, I will ask all stakeholders to take a very short, 5-10 minute, anonymous survey on our learning community. This survey data will be used to strengthen my leadership practices and our learning community, which will therefore, impact student learning. If you would like to take the survey sooner, and leave 5-10 minutes early on Thursday, you may. You can access the survey here:

Creating a culture where all stakeholders feel empowered to be change agents is my leadership vision and gaining multiple perspectives and hearing all voices will be important to achieving success. Thank you in advance, for your participation.
Wishing everyone a great week!
~Kim

Lifetouch Picture Retakes/Makeups- November 20th, 2019
PICTURE MAKEUP & RETAKE DAY INFORMATION
Lifetouch Studios will be taking makeup and retake pictures at Peace Dale Elementary School on Wednesday, November 20, 2019.
One photographer will arrive at 8:45 AM to set up in the Library with pictures starting at 10:00 AM.
PLEASE NOTIFY ALL STAFF: If a student says they need a Lifetouch picture taken, please send to the camera regardless of an order or not. Some parents have placed online orders plus they have an option to order at a later date. Your school also needs a picture of each child for school services. Lifetouch will not refuse to take any students picture.
Peace Dale's Safety Vestibule
Our main office is getting a fresh new look! Beginning next week, on Thursday, construction workers will begin remodeling our front office. The work will still be conducted after school hours, however, normal routines will be adjusted to accommodate this stage of the project. This should take about a week and should have minimal effect on our daily operations.
Please reach out with any questions or concerns.
PBIS School-Wide Assembly
This week, our PBIS team will meet again to finalize plans for our first school-wide assembly. As mentioned at our faculty meeting, I will be leaning on our committee to facilitate the assembly, as I listen and learn about PDES's past practices. The assembly will have to take place on Monday, November 25th, because I will need to attend meetings on Tuesday for team day. We will finalize the time at our committee meeting tomorrow morning and the committee will send out a more detailed email about the event, later in the week.
