Taft Timberwolf Newsletter

Week of September 27, 2015

From the Principal's Desk

On Friday our faculty was involved in professional development for the entire day. Teachers and staff attended various sessions on reading, writing, math, assessments, technology, and wellness. During our day of learning we took time out for a "quick pic." See our awesome Timberwolves below!

Home Coming Week

Next week is Homecoming Week at the High School. Below is the schedule of events. We would like Taft to participate in this exciting time by following the dress up schedule for the week. We would also like to show our support of the fundraising efforts for Make-A-Wish Foundation. Staff will be paying money to wear jeans next week with all proceeds going to the foundation. Taft families are encouraged to participate in the many activities offered next week. If anyone would like to make a donation through Taft to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, you are welcome to do so any time before next Friday afternoon. Checks can be made directly to MakeA-Wish Foundation and will be added to the donations made by staff and families of Taft. Please put donations in an envelop labeled “Make-A-Wish” donation to be sent to the office. Thank you for all of your support.

Teacher Feature

In first grade we want to welcome Ms. Schmitz!

Ms. Schmitz is from Stockbridge, Wisconsin. She attended the University of Wisconsin- Stevens Point and this is her first year of teaching. Her hobbies include running, watching sports, reading and crafting. Below are a few things you may want to know about our new first grade teacher.

I went into teaching because I love kids! I love to help them learn to read, write, and do math, but more than that, I love to teach them to value the richness that life has to offer!

There is so much that I like about Taft! I love the way everybody at Taft works together nicely. I also think all of the teachers are extremely caring! Go Timberwolves!

My favorite food is cheese curds!

My favorite color is green!

My favorite type of music is country!

I'm a huge Packer fan- but who isn't? :)
