There's a Lot to Communicate This Week!
Community Meeting: On Monday, 2/27, there was a community meeting via zoom at which I shared the recommendations from the Stakeholder Team. As a reminder, we were tasked with updating our business model for compensating workshop instructors, and for purchasing curriculum and supplies. We were also tasked with developing more robust K-6 basic education instruction. Here is a link to the video from the zoom meeting.
Parent Passwords for network access: Parents who created an annual parent wifi log-in using the Edmonds_BYOD network prior to the network outage may once again use those credentials to access the network. If you continue to have connectivity issues, please email Sherrl Kite at kites807@edmonds.wednet.edu.
Accessing Canvas Accounts: Parents and guardians with an emai listed in Skyward can log in to Canvas to monitor student progress in their classes. As of 2/13/23, the link to Canvas has changed. If you are accessing Canvas using an internet browser, the login page for families is now edmonds15.instructure.com/login/canvas. Remember when logging in, use your full email address for the username. If you have not set up your account or need help resetting your password, please refer to these linked directions.
Library 1 is now designated as a Teen Hangout Space: One of the things that has been needed is a place for teens to gather and hangout when they are not in class. Library 1 is now designated as that place. Jen Meabon is working on making this a safe and welcoming space for teens. Parents, if you have been using Library 1 as a quieter meeting space, the parent room and kitchen across the hallway should now be available once again for adult use. The auditorium is also available to families.
Library Noise Levels: As we are returning to full campus usage post pandemic closure, we are seeing increased library usage. It is exciting to see our students accessing the library materials, playing a game, or checking in with each other in the library. We recognize that this increased usage translates into an increased noise level. For families who need a quieter environment, the Auditorium is available. We are also working on identifying other quiet work areas. As most of us know, space is at a premium on campus so we're seeing how and where we can get creative.
In Partnership,
Kathleen Hodges
Panorama Wellness Screening Deadline Extended to March 16th
Students are important partners as we work to improve our communication, academic program and overall experience for everyone.
In order to learn more about student experiences, Edmonds School District conducts feedback surveys online at school three times a year. The Panorama survey information helps schools support students' social and emotional well-being on topics including safety, school environment, positive/challenging emotions and perceptions of supportive relationships. SEL skills are critical to school, career and life success. Please visit the Panorama page on the district website to learn more.
All students in Edmonds participate in the Panorama Wellness surveys when they are at school. Because Edmonds Heights does not have all of our kids on campus at any point in time, this is something that takes place outside of the classroom. To participate in the Panorama survey, students need to use their district-issued Chromebooks to log onto surveys.panoramaed.com/edmondswa. Students enter their access code, which is their student ID. They will see a list of surveys, from which they will select Student Wellness and Supports & Environment. Once selected, hit the blue "submit" button to enter the survey.
Leadership Council News
Leadership Council Elections are coming up! Self-nomination forms are online and can be found by following the QR code below. They will be received until March 9th at 5:00 pm.
Leadership Council's purpose is to serve students, families, and the community from a place of relationship via modeling partnerships, providing stability in changing times, engaging the community for input, offering guidance to the principal and staff, and supporting equity work. Additional information can be found on our website: www.EHK12PTSO.org.

COVID Updates for the 2022-2023 School Year
- Masks are optional for both students and adults. While masks may be optional, respect for family decision-making around masking is required.
- All adults on campus, including parent educators, must submit proof of vaccination or a medical or religious exemption from vaccination. You are considered fully vaccinated two weeks after you have received the second dose of a two-dose series (Pfizer or Moderna) or a single-dose vaccine (Johnson/Johnson). Medical exemptions may be obtained by your doctor and emailed. If you are requesting a religious exemption, please complete and submit this form. Vaccine documentation and/or exemption requests should be submitted to vaccineverification@edmonds.wednet.edu with the subject line: Edmonds Heights Parent Educator. Edmonds Heights will be notified when verifications and/or exemptions are approved. NOTE: If you are a continuing Edmonds Heights family and you submitted vaccine verification or received an exemption last year, you do not need to resubmit. If you are new to Edmonds Heights, you will need to resubmit this information even if you are transferring from another school in the district.
- Adults must continue to sign in at the front office.
