Projecting From An iPad

Using the iPad as an instructional tool allows teachers mobility around the classroom and the flexibility of handing the device to students and allowing them to lead. Every EISD classroom has been equipped with an Apple TV to seamlessly mirror the teacher's iPad during instruction!

Before You Mirror

First you will want to do the following:


  1. Switch the source to Video/HMDI on the projector remote (or projector)
  2. Turn the Apple TV on using the Apple TV remote

Enabling AirPlay Mirroring

Tap Screen Mirroring

Tap Screen Mirroring and you should see available Apple TVs or other AirPlay devices such as AirServers.

Select Apple TV and Mirror

Tap the name of the Apple TV (usually by room number) that you wish to AirPlay to, then enter code that appears on projector screen. Once enabled, your iPad screen will be mirrored on your Apple TV.

To Stop Mirroring

To stop mirroring the iPad:

  1. Swipe up to access control center
  2. Tap Screen Mirroring
  3. Tap Stop Mirroring

If the AirPlay menu or the Apple TV is not appearing

Try the following troubleshooting tips:


  1. Make sure that the Apple TV is on (small blue light indicates it is on)
  2. On the iPad, turn the Wi-fi off then turn it back on (pictured below)
  3. Restart the iPad
