The Riebli Record

A message from Mrs. Todd
This was a magical week! I loved watching all of the learning, whether it is online or in person. I watched at home kids zoom with their classmates that were on campus. I watched kids jump out of the car and parents tear up. I watched online kids meet new friends. What a successful, fun week!!!
The district is in the process of moving to 5 days a week of in person instruction. We hope to be at 5 days a week before the end of April! We are working really hard to get "closer to normal" as summer approaches.
Some details about moving to 5 days:
- Students will be masked and 3ft apart in the classrooms.
- Students will NOT attend a full day due to the lunch requirements.
- Start and end times will be staggered to help with social distancing.
- Students will have 2 recess/snack breaks
There has been some questions about "Why not serve lunch and have students stay all day?" Currently, the social distancing requirements when students are eating would force us to have 4 to 5 lunch periods. That is not fessible at this time.
Also, the district will be offering Summer School. There will be 2 sessions, June 14-July 2 and July 5-July 23. Summer school will be held in the mornings, five days a week, in person only. More information will be coming.
XO, Mrs. Todd

Help keep music in our schools! The board positions for president and treasurer still need to be filled for the Mark West Education Foundation to continue. Please contact the Foundation at mwef@mwusd.org if you are interested or have any questions.
Students in hybrid learning may have already spotted Mrs. Kaufman playing the violin at recess this week. If you haven't seen her yet, not to worry! She'll be visiting your cohort soon! Again, song requests are welcome!
