Kingsley Connection
A weekly newsletter from the Kingsley Administrative Team...
January 17, 2022
Brrr! We seem to have made it through the coldest point of the month. We are grateful for the sun that has been shining each day. Please continue to have your child dress accordingly with snowpants, boots, and gloves for recess. We will continue to go outside as long as the real feel temperature is above zero.
It was a busy week at Kingsley. We thank you for your patience as we shifted into the new Covid-19 guidance. You may visit the district website or call our health office with questions.
See you Tuesday,
Mel Hackett and Eleni Gajewski
Number Corner is done daily in Kingsley classrooms. It is a community time to analyze patterns and mathematical concepts while discussing traditional calendar components. | SEL lessons are taught weekly using the Second Step Curriculum. Ms. Gallagher's class passed the "feelings" ball. | The Kingsley staff continue to work hard at keeping children connected during mandated COVID-19 related quarantines. This is one of many examples where a student is learning from home and still getting an opportunity to remain connected to the classroom. |

Thank you, Downers Grove Junior Women's Club! (DGJWC)
Congratulations, Mrs. Van Milligen (Kingsley Reading Specialist) | Congratulations, Miss Krier (Kingsley Teacher Librarian) | Congratulations, Miss Beck (Kingsley Art Teacher) |
Principal Advisory Council... Principal Advisory Council met last week. Students gave feedback about planning for winter and spring events at Kingsley School. This is our 2nd year of P.A.C.
