Week of January 10-14th

Principal's Corner - New Years Resolutions!

Hello Parents and Families,

Scholars have been working on a New Years Resolution and Growth Mindset project in ELA focused on personal and academic goals. This project will be added to their Scholar Portfolio Site.

College and careers week is coming up soon! Please reach out if you have any connections or would like to share information about your occupation with scholars. We have a few high schools coming to talk to our 8th graders that week as well.

Please continue to notify the office about any Covid-19 positive cases or quarantines. We are not currently approved for a virtual learning option so scholars will remain learning in person until further notice.

Parents and A+ Families, we need your support! We are recruiting available guardians and family to volunteer on campus beginning in January. Volunteer time slots between 6:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. will vary depending on volunteer's schedule available. Please contact Ms. Brewington if interested. It takes a village to raise and support our scholars!

For all transportation issues and needs call 614-365-5074. Questions about the compliance monitoring system may be directed to the Office of Field Services and Transportation at TransportationCompliance@education.ohio.gov.

For technology support please email napoleonloginhelp@aplusarts.com. All students know their log-in information, but if there are any issues please let us know. Parents may log in to scholar accounts at anytime online or through the Google Classroom app.

Happy New Year!

Ms. K. Brewington

Uniforms and Dress Code

Black polo top, black or khaki bottoms (no leggings), any shoes (no slides). If you are in need of any support with these items, please do not hesitate to ask. Outdoor coats, hoods, hats and hair scarves are NOT to be worn inside the building.

Cell Phones and Devices

While previously scholars have been allowed to put phones in their lockers, an all-call message was sent home on December 1st that we are collecting scholars' cell phones. Scholars will NOT be putting phones in lockers, if you would like us not to collect your scholars cell phone please keep their phones at home. Students should leave personal devices such as laptops and electronic accessories at home as well. Feel free to call the front office or Ms. Brewington to contact your scholar.

Scholars must bring their OWN refillable water bottle and personal headphones. These were listed as required supplies at the beginning of the year. We do not have cups available for our water-filling stations, scholars must bring a bottle. The school's supply of headphones are no longer working due to misuse. Scholars use laptops in almost every class, it is important to have a set of working headphones to hear instructional audio materials.

The main office appreciates the following supply donations:

Bottled Water

Facial Tissues

In order to promote a safe, healthy and academically focused learning environment at Napoleon scholars must comply with our school procedures and policies. Due to numbers of available staff and space constraints, In School Suspension (ISS) is not an option at this time. All suspensions will be Out of School Suspensions (OSS).

A few reminders:

  • Scholars who refuse to go to class, are not in their assigned area or walk out of class without permission will be suspended for a minimum of 2 days OSS.
  • Scholars must wear their masks properly (covering both nose and mouth) when they are not eating or drinking. Repeated mask policy violations result in behavioral infractions and consequences.
  • Kickboard is our Positive Behavior Support System. Scholars received their log-in information previously. If you need this log-in information resent, email Ms. Brewington directly.
