Read Across America Week

This week we celebrate national Read Across America Week with many exciting activities!

Wednesday, March 2nd: Cozy up to a good book

Wear your pajamas!

Wear a crazy hat or crazy hair! Or dress up as a twin with friends!

Friday, March 4th: The Lorax Day

Wear a mustache!

Weekly Reading contest: The class in each tier with the most books read will win a book party in the library with Ms. Lichtner and Mr. Smith.
Students will receive a recording sheet on Friday the 26th so that they can start reading over the weekend. If students run out of room on the recording sheet, they can either get more from the library, or use scrap paper from home with the same information as the recording sheet. Students may check their class’ progress on the bulletin board by the library. Their completed book recording sheets can be returned to the library any day next week. Happy Reading!

Language Arts

Lesson 20 - Dex: The Heart of a Hero is our focus story. Skills this week include, compare/contrast, words with or/ore, and commas in a series. In writing, we are learning how to write Fictional Narratives. A specific focus is creating a "hook" in the beginning

e-ENVIRONMENTAL Contest 2016 - Use your creative energy and the computer to produce an electronic e-ENVIRONMENTAL message for Earth Week! A winner from each of the elementary, middle and high school levels will be named. Elementary winners will also be recognized at the Elementary Media Festival.
