A Loyal Roo: Laci Blanton by Shelby Gilley, Staff Writer
"Roo Pride. We hear it constantly, but what does it really mean to have school spirit? Well, senior Laci Blanton is a picture perfect example of what it means to ‘bleed blue’. This girl does it all and does it well. She’s both a WHS Blue Belle and WHS Cheerleader, and this school year will be her 4th year of happily juggling both." Read all about it!

More Than Fun & Games
Lady Roos Basketball News
"Anna (Jefferson-Polk) busts 30 to lead the Lady Roos to 6 in a row.
After a slow start that was a turnover fest, the Lady Roos regrouped at halftime and put it in the hands off Anna Jefferson-Polk, who responded and took charge on the floor as Gabbie Huggins, Tyara Buckner, Kara Rothrock, Nicole Martinez, and Kara Rothrock dominated on the glass and forced the Lady Hornets of Azle into a plethora of turnovers and ran away with a 52-39 win.
Anna lead the pack with 30pts, and Gabbie Huggins had 9pts and 14 rebounds, and Kara Rothrock had 9pts and 7 steals.
The Lady Roos improved to 7-4 heading into the Granbury Tny.
Thursday the Lady Roos lost two straight games, both by 3 to Burleson Centennial and Grandview, both games 49-46.
The Lady Roos then regrouped Friday with a 55-38 win over Sweetwater, where Anna, Gabbie, and Kara Rothrock all hit double digits with 18, 12, and 11 to get in the Bronze finals Saturday morning against Lake Dallas, where the Lady Roos put on a defensive display in the second half to pull away with a 47-33 win over the Lady Falcons. Anna Jefferson-Polk racked up 16 in the win.
The Lady Roos travel to Euless Trinity Monday night at 6:30 and then return home one more time Friday Dec 8th to take on the Blue Devils of Adelaide of Southern Austrailia at 6:30pm. Should be a shrimp on the barbie good time!
The Freshman and JV play at 5pm Friday vs Grapevine here as well."
