FBLA Has More Shark Tank Presentations
ENTREPRENEURSHIP "SHARK TANK" PRESENTATIONS
What an exciting time at Dutch Fork High School! The 5B Entrepreneurship class held “Shark Tank" presentations that featured eight business plans. These businesses represented start up companies in the following industries: fashion, technology, lawn care, and refurbishing sports equipment. Mr. Paul Smith, Newberry College Assistant Professor of Business and Entrepreneurship, and Sandra Cassell have been working with students since September in preparation for the “Shark Tank” events. This partnership and team-teaching approach are the direct result of our district's vision to incorporate an Entrepreneurship Academy for all high school students.
The winners of the event this week were Janiya Clark, Nariyah Moran, and Kennedy Williams of Indulgence, LLC, and Ben Hardaway, of TLC Devices, LLC. Last week nine presentations from the 1A Entrepreneurship class were judged. Students from this week presentations will be completing peer evaluations which will help determine the overall “Shark Tank” winner. The overall winner will be scored on the performance in the Shark Tank by the judges, peer evaluations, and instructor evaluations throughout the 10-session instructional period.
