Week 10 ROAR!
Waterbury Community,
It has been an exciting week welcoming back kindergarten and 1st grade students to in-person learning! As we prepare to welcome back 2nd and 3rd grade students on Monday, October 26th, we’ve had to make a slight adjustment to the Friday, October 30th’s, Halloween parade.
Originally, we were going to have students parade around the block, so that we could social distance families. Because DuPage County’s COVID cases are on the rise, we will change the parade out of an abundance of caution. We will instead have a reverse parade. Families, in their cars, will have the opportunity to drive by and see the kids, who remain here at the school and in their costumes. We will station grades in two spots to ease traffic congestion as well as stagger the times grade levels are outside at those spots.
For our primary students (grades K-2), they will stand, socially distanced outside in the front semi-circle, aka, the bus drop off spot.
For our intermediate students (grades 3-5), they will stand, socially distanced outside by the car drop off/pick up lane.
For any remote student, or for our 4th and 5th grade students, we wish to invite you back to enjoy this celebration with us. If you are interested in participating 4th/5th and remote families, please drop off your child, fully costumed, at the tent no later than 10:15/2:00. During the rest of the celebration time, when not at the parade, classes will start the craft. The craft was originally a grab-and-go, but now will be started at school.
If you choose not to participate, we will send home any craft at the next supply pick-up, which is Monday, November 2nd. We will have asynchronous (not live teaching) activities.
The following times will be utilized:

In the event that money is remaining after end of the year celebrations, the money will be spent on the classroom. Please fill out the attached slip below and return it with your child as soon as possible; preferably by October 30th. Please send cash or use Venmo, Apple Pay or any other electronic payment (if the chosen room parents choose this option). Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
