CB West High School
Updates From Mr. Bucher
Opening Days of School
Dear CB West Parents,
I have had the time of my life opening CB West for another great school year! The students, staff, and parents have been so helpful and have made me feel very special. Although I have only been at CB West for a short time, I already feel as though I am part of the CB West Family!
In order to stay in touch with the CB West Community, I plan on publishing brief newsletters each week. The newsletters will highlight just SOME of the events occurring at CB West every day. West is a busy place! Please feel free to send me feedback on the scope of the newsletters. I always value parent input.
Sincerely,
Jason Bucher

CB West Student Wins Seat On All-National Band!
Nicholas Hall, a senior at Central Bucks West High School in Doylestown, has won a seat on the National Association for Music Educators All-National Honors Concert Band. He is the first West musician to earn the honor.
Hall, 17, a flutist who performs with the C.B. West Marching Bucks, the Jazz 1 Ensemble, and Symphonic Band, is one of 150 student musicians chosen from across the country to perform at the NAfME conference in Nashville, TN, on Oct. 30. The Concert Band will perform at Gaylord Opryland. The NAfME All-National Honor Ensembles represent the top-performing high school musicians in the United States. All-Nationals is the culmination of 2 years of competitions, starting with Pennsylvania Music Educators Association District, Regional, and State auditions and concerts.
A four-year member of the Youth Orchestra of Bucks County, Hall was recently chosen to perform as a soloist for YOBC's fall concert on Nov. 24. The Doylestown native also serves as a drum major for the Marching Bucks, and performs with Quakertown Community Band. He studies with composer and flutist Cathy Block. It is the first time in West's school history a student musician reached the national ensemble level.
The ensembles are made up of selected high school students who are recommended by their state presidents, and endorsed by their school principals and music directors.
