Keep up the good work of providing quality learning experiences AND make sure it is manageable for not only the student, BUT ALSO FOR YOU! Distance Learning takes more time from the teacher, make sure your workload is manageable.

TRT Update from Monday night's email:
You’ve been busy this weekend! Thanks for keeping the questions coming, I am excited that I can help so many of you to be successful. Here are some notes from themes that came up over the weekend…
YouTube- many of you have wanted to post a video that is longer than 15 minutes. In order to do that, you need to verify your school YouTube account. Please visit slide 55 in the tech slide show for more information and a “how to” video in order to verify your school YouTube account. [bit/ly/CUSDTechnology]bit/ly/CUSDTechnology. Please note that you can post the LINK to your video in PowerSchool but you can’t embed the video in a content block. After you upload your YouTube video, please be sure to “approve” your video. As the PowerSchool help button I am still getting messages from students that they can’t view your video, so I am going to your page, clicking on the posted link and approving your video so that students can view it. Please be sure that you are uploading your videos to your school account, not your personal account.
Screencastify and Screencastomatic-both of these sites were having issues over the weekend. There were no banners on their sites, but I wonder if they were taking the weekend to implement some changes due to the overwhelming traffic they are receiving. If you are one of the teachers who reached out over the weekend, please try it again as I am now able to log in and record in each site. They are offering “Pro” versions for free during this time if you need to make a longer recording. Let me know if you need a code.
PowerSchool-please be sure to publish your week two assignments. Week three should not be published yet. Please make sure it is VERY obvious where your week one and week two assignments are posted/pages where those materials can be found. I have helped students and parents navigate pages where there is just a unit title, no clear indication that the sub page is part of your distance learning materials. It is also helpful if you’d reorder your subpages so that the ones in use are at the top so that I don’t have to keep scrolling past a list of unpublished pages to find your current pages. Please reach out if you would like assistance with this.
Week two here we go! How can I assist you? Keep reaching out.

FREE New York Times to your students:
Free Zoo Resources
The San Diego Zoo is offering FREE access to their Global Academy online learning modules for students and educators during the shelter-from-home order. Over the next couple of months, the zoo will publish courses categorized by animal type each week, including cats, monkeys, bears, and more. Each course is designed by the experts of San Diego Zoo Global and its partners to immerse learners in challenging and thought-provoking content and help them build professional zoological skills.
