Final Exam Schedule for Grades 6th, 7th, and 8th
Save the Date! May 25th
Kindergarten Graduation - May 26th
Field Day - May 27th
When is Field Day? FRIDAY, MAY 27th
Who participates in Field Day? All Trojans Prek-6th
What time is Field Day? Prek-2nd 8:00am – 9:40am; 3rd-6th 10:00am – 11:40am; 7th grade students need to arrive at 7:15 am to help set up.
Are parents able to attend? You bet! In fact, I’d love for you to consider volunteering. Please remember you must be Virtus trained to volunteer with students. Use this Sign-Up Genius to sign up: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20f0448ada622a5fe3-field
What can my student wear for field day? Students can wear athletic wear (running shorts are ok), any tennis shoes, and their specified t-shirt color for each grade. It is highly recommended that students wear materials that are quick-drying because they will be getting wet at field day. Swimsuits underneath or swim trunks for boys are ok. Shirts must be left on.
What does my student need to bring? A towel and a bottle of water. We will have water jogs outside to refill bottles. Sunscreen and bug spray must be applied before arriving at school! Hats and sunglasses are okay!
Can my student bring a small bag? Yes, students are responsible for their own items. A small bag to keep everything in is probably best. Don’t forget to label EVERYTHING!
What if it rains? Students will participate in minimal activities in the gym. An alternative schedule of times will be sent out to parents if this is necessary. PLEASE Join Us in Prayers for GREAT weather! God is good, the day will be exactly what it will be!
Any other field day tips?
- Field Day is wet and messy, so a sheet or extra towel for the vehicle afterward is a good idea.
- Please don’t wear your best tennis shoes out there, it will get messy.
- Students will be enjoying class parties when not participating in field day events outside. Ask the room mothers and teachers what they need. Field Day is super fun and much help is needed and appreciated.

Candle Passing 2022
Following Mass, 7th and 8th grade students participated in the beautiful SMGCS candle passing ceremony. Graduating 8th grade students symbolically passed their duty as leaders and role models of the school to the graduating 7th grade class. After passing the torch, 8th graders extinguished their flames and silently processed out of the church.
Congratulations to our graduating 8th grade class. We wish you well! Good luck to the graduating 7th grade class. We know you will fulfil your new duties as SMG leaders with dignity.

Pep Rally 2022
Our last pep rally of the year was held Friday. Eighth graders Will and Haskell served as MCs as the sports teams were recognized. SMG Cheerleaders performed multiple routines and entertained the crowd. The 3 spirit awards were earned by a 1st grade rumba chant, a 6th grade chant and dance routine, and an original 8th grade chant. The pep rally concluded with a final tug-of-war between Pick's and Pennell's homerooms.
