You can choose if you would like to have your conference in-person at Lakeview - or - if you would prefer a virtual conference.

ROAR Awards are Back!

Do you appreciate a staff member at Lakeview? Of course you do! Show them you care by submitting their name for a ROAR Award (the grown-up version of our Golden Lions for students). Here is the link to submit - you can submit as many as you want, every week! The staff member will get a certificate and his/her name will be entered in a monthly drawing for a gift card to the place of their choice. Our staff really appreciates the nice notes. ROAR Awards are sponsored by the Lakeview PTO.

Construction Coming!

The city of South Milwaukee has informed us that construction will begin on Manistique in the next week or so. This is going to significantly impact student drop-off and pickup for about a month. Please pay special attention when crossing the street and choose safe spots to cross. If you drive, you will probably not be able to park on Manistique, so arrive early to find alternative spots to park and walk in. Please consider using Marion Avenue (in front of the school) more.

Masks - Please help!

We all know that masks are required, and I am happy to report that mask wearing at Lakeview is not an issue. Our students never complain. We still need your help.

Please have several masks for your child, labeled with their name in their backpack.

We have some students showing up to school without a mask and many more that lose or break their mask throughout the school day. Thank you!

PTO Updates

The Lakeview PTO held its first in-person meeting of the year on Thursday, September 16. The PTO discussed potential fundraisers and providing annual classroom startup funds to teachers.

Of great interest was a presentation to the PTO by Blaise Paul, the Director of Business for the school district, regarding federal ESSER funds that the district is receiving. Pending school board approval, the district is hoping to use a portion of these funds to upgrade the HVAC system at Lakeview (and E. W. Luther) which would also include air conditioning. If all goes well, that work could happen next summer.

Grandparent's Day

I am sorry to say that due to the current health situation, we will not have a Grandparent's Day this year. Hopefully we can resume this tradition next school year.

Picture Retakes

Picture retakes will be on Wednesday, October 13. If your child did not get pictures taken on September 8, he/she will have a picture taken on October 13. If you do not like your pictures and want to retake the pictures, you just need to have your child bring back the old pictures on October 13. The contact information for our photographers may be found at this link (call or email them).
