Staff Spotlight: Ms. Cassy Kelly, School Psychologist

This past week was National School Psychology Week, so I thought I'd take a moment to spotlight Twain's amazing School Psychologist, Ms. Kelly. Not everyone knows or understands all that school psychologists do or what an important part of the school team they are, but we are very fortunate to have Ms. Kelly as part of the Comets staff.

Ms. Kelly provides academic, behavioral, and mental health supports. She provides evaluation, assessment, and data analysis for students, she consults with families and staff to help support our Comets, and much more!

Thank you, Ms. Kelly, for ALL you do at Twain!

Twain is forming the Science Olympiad team for the 2022 competition!

The May 14th County Meet will consist of a team of 17 members. Those selected to participate in the team of 17 will be chosen based on parent availability to help coach, teacher recommendation, and grade-level of the participants.

South Macomb Tournament Date:

TBA (Tentatively scheduled for March 12th at Fraser High School)

Macomb County Tournament Date:

May 14, 2022 at Macomb Community College South Campus

If you are interested in participating, forms were sent home Friday and can be downloaded below. Please fill out the form and return it to Mrs. Cracchiolo by Friday, November 19th!

Twain Spirit Wear Orders Due THIS FRIDAY!

*The original order form had a typo and didn't include youth sizes for item #6. Youth sizes (YS, YM, and YL) ARE available for that item, too. Just write them in on the order form.

The form linked below reflects this update, too.*

Paper order forms went home last week and can also be downloaded and printed using the link below. We are offering 3 design options pictured below this year: an updated Twain Comets design, our Team Twain design for this year's building-wide theme, and our PBIS Mark Twain ROCKS design. The updated Comets logo comes on several colors, and there are many options and items to choose from for each design.

Order Forms and Payment (cash or check made out to Screen and Roll) must be turned in to school by this Friday, November 19th. This will ensure delivery before Christmas Break.

20-21 Yearbooks

We have not forgotten about the 20-21 yearbooks for our families who ordered them last year. We are still working with Lifetouch to get them to you due to the late timing of our picture days last spring and difficulty getting a staff member trained in how to create the template for the book. We are hoping they'll be heading to the printer this week. Thank you all for your patience as we work through this unusual set of circumstances!

Ms. Wozniak sent the most updated quarantine procedures from the Health Department on Thursday, September 30th. If you did not see her email, you may find it HERE.

***Remember, the best way to do YOUR PART to help keep our community healthy and in school teaching and learning is to keep children with any potential sign of illness at home until the cause is determined by a medical professional.***

Our Lost and Found is getting pretty full again. There are MANY jackets, sweatshirts, and other items. Please feel free to drop in on any school day between 7am and 4pm to take a look if your child is missing anything. Items not claimed will eventually be donated. Thank you!
