If you are interested in learning about Math Pentathlon, please join us this evening for an introduction to the program. Math Pentathlon is a research-based activity in which students learn math while playing games. During the information night meeting, participants will be given an overview of the program, related activities and student expectations. The games will be available for viewing and exploration.
Students generally meet once a week for an hour after school to get instructions about each game and the math connections, and practice what they are learning. In the Spring, tournaments are held in which students from all over the state play the games in competition. There are four divisions: Kinder & First, Second & Third, Fourth & Fifth, Sixth & Seventh grades. While the costs are kept to a minimum at the campus level, each participant is expected to attend the division level tournament, for which there is a registration fee.
