2020 Wisconsin Statewide Virtual Tornado Drill
Wisconsin’s Tornado and Severe Weather Awareness Week April 13-17
It is essential that families take time to go over severe weather safety plans, making sure everyone knows what to do when a tornado or severe storm occurs and where to seek shelter. ReadyWisconsin, the National Weather Service and Wisconsin Broadcasters Association encourages everyone in the state to participate in a Virtual Tornado Drill at 1:45 p.m. on April 16.

Learning Materials Bus Delivery
We will be running all 6 routes again on Monday, April, 13th. The bus will be to homes approximately 1 hour later than normal school day student pick up time. There will be something for all EC, 5K, 1st and 3rd-grade students. If parents could please be watching for the busses and come out and get the materials. Otherwise, they will be left near mailboxes, on driveways or on porches depending on the home/property layout. If you live out of district, you can come to the Friess Lake main entrance next week, April 13th through April 17th, from 11:00 - 12:00 to get your students materials.
Virtual Learning Survey
I would mean the world to the FLES Staff if you would take a moment to complete this survey to provide us with some feedback regarding how we can best serve your family during school closures.

DreamBox is Accessible from Home!
DreamBox is an adaptive, online K-8 math program designed to complement classroom instruction. It is individualized for your child and promotes student decision making, strategy development, conceptual understanding and problem-solving skills. Students who complete a minimum of 5 lessons a week are shown to enjoy significant mathematical growth. It's a fun and easy way for students to engage with math.
Every student at Friess Lake has a Dreambox account, and while they have time during class to work on DreamBox, additional time at home can lead to greater mathematical understanding and close gaps. Follow the steps below to access DreamBox for your child. K-2 students should have received their individual badges referenced below. If you did not receive a badge, please contact your child's teacher.
Directions for Accessing Dreambox via the Clever Portal
1. Go to hhasd.org
2. Go to your school (FLES or RMS) and click on Students
3. On the left hand side of the student page click on the Clever Portal link
4. Click log in with Google
5. Your child will need to log in with his/her school user account and password OR with the badge that was sent home. Using a badge will require a camera on your computer.
FLES Virtual Dance Party!
You're invited to participate in the Friess Lake Virtual Dance Party. To join in on the fun, record a short video clip (15 sec. max) on Flipgrid of you doing your best dance move. To make your dance clip more fun, dress in costume.
I will be using these dance clips from Friess Lake students and staff to create a Virtual Dance Party video that will be released on April 17th (the day of the scheduled Country Western Hoedown).
Everyone can dance because dance is just moving to a beat. If you're looking for ideas, check out on my Dance Moves YouTube playlist. Thanks for your help in making this a fun dance party for everyone to experience virtually.
