Boston Marathon Bombing

Bombings
At 2:49 P.M, about two hours after the winner crossed the finish line, two bombs detonated on Boylston Street near Copley Square just before the finish line. The first bomb exploded outside Marathon Sports at Boylston street and the second bomb explode after 13 seconds one block farther west. These explosions caused huge destruction and caused huge fears among the public. Due to the attack many schools, universities and other places were closed temporarily. Also, the NHL game between the Boston bruins and Senators was cancelled. Not only that, the bombings also cancelled a NBA game of Boston Celtics and Indiana Pacers.
Victims
The bombings killed 3 people and injured 264. The number of injuries were grievous and required intensive care. Also, three spectators were killed in the bombings: Krystle Marie Campbell (a 29 years old restaurant manager from Medford); Lu Lingzi (a 23 years old Chinese graduate student at Boston University) and Martin William Richard (an eight years old boy). On April 18th Sean Collier, and MIT police officer was ambushed in his police car and died from multiple wounds from the bombing suspects. According to BPHC, the 264 people injured were treated at 27 local hospitals and many victims suffered lower leg injuries and sharp wounds.
Suspects
On the day of bombing, police identified two suspects through the camera and with the help from public. Dzhokhar and Tamerlan (suspects) placed the bomb in a bag and put the bag near in a building near the Boston Marathon but the camera captured them. Then they ran away and hided from the police but FBI kept searching and they finally found them hiding in boat at Watertown. They were both captured and sentenced to death. During the police inspection Dzhokhar said he and his brother wanted to defend Islam from U.S Iraq War. They attacked U.S to take revenge for the war and cause fear among the Americans.
