Great Day in the Park!
The fourth graders' delayed post play celebration in City Park was a great success! We started off our day with a surrey scavenger hunt through the park, which was a nail biter to the end with several teams finishing minutes apart, albeit at different locations. ; )
Everyone had a great time, and we'd like to thank our parents, Mr. Trimble Green and Mrs. Stephanie Ridgeway for joining us in the ride, as well as Mrs. Krystil Lawton, who made our picnic lunch even more enjoyable with ice-cold popsicles and spring colored tablecloths awaiting us at the end of our ride. Between that and a friendly visiting raccoon, the day was an overall success for all. Thank you again for all your support of this year's 4th grade play!

Character Week at St. George's
This week begins our fourth annual Character Week. Saturday, April 23rd, is St. George's Day, a day to honor St.George and to kick off our week of character and citizenship. St. George persevered by standing up for what was right and thinking about the needs of others. His integrity, perseverance, compassion, and respect led him to become known as a Holy Helper. This week, we focus on ways to demonstrate our own St. George's citizenship by helping others, and to recognize the citizenship and outstanding character of our classmates and others around us.
A Big Welcome to New Classmate, Piper Campbell!
Please join us in welcoming the newest member to our fourth grade class, Piper Campbell. Piper and her family have recently moved to New Orleans from Florida, and we are happy to have them here with us at St. George's. Piper is in Mrs. Sontag's homeroom class. Welcome Campbell family!
Fourth Grade Service Project Begins This Sunday at The Dragon Cafe!
As part of St. George's community service work, the fourth grade class has volunteered to help St. George's Episcopal Church's Dragon Cafe serve breakfast Sunday mornings during the month of May. The Dragon Cafe serves a population of people in need, many of whom are without a home. Student volunteers, along with teachers and any parent volunteers, will help set up and serve on Sunday mornings between 7:30 and 9:30 a.m. during the month of May. May is a busy month for all of us, so we hope that each of the fourth graders will be available to volunteer at least one time on any of the following Sundays: May 1, May 8, May 15, or May 22. A sign up sheet has been emailed to all parents to choose a date(s) that works best for your family's schedule. Thank you for helping us to serve others. For those of you who may be available on Sunday, May 8th, (Mothers' Day) we will provide flowers for the students to give to any moms and grandmothers.
"Giving Tree" Dress Down Day This Friday
