PSSA Testing Information

Pennsylvania’s State Assessment System measures the academic performance of students using the Pennsylvania System of School Assessment (PSSA) at the elementary level. All students are included in this testing, with exclusions for only a very few students. The PSSA assessment provides schools with valuable information about student achievement and program quality.

This year the testing will occur during the following testing windows.

  • Writing: Grade 5 - March 12th & 13th
  • Reading and Math: Grades 3, 4, 5, & 6 - April 8th – 12th
  • Science: Grade 4 - April 23rd & 24th

Please see the Information for Parents posted on the Parent Resources section of the Central Bucks website. Detailed information about each test and overall testing procedures, as well as specific information regarding the cell phone ban during testing is available through the links provided.

Parents can help by encouraging their children to take these tests seriously. It is also important to make sure that children get plenty of rest during the testing weeks and have a healthy breakfast. As always, we ask your support in helping your child do his/her best on this test. Should you have any questions about the testing, do not hesitate to contact me.

Making a Difference . . .

On behalf of Alexandra Ursino (6th grade), we would like to thank all of the Titus families and students who contributed to Alex's efforts in supporting the Last Chance Ranch.

The Last Chance Ranch is a non-profit, volunteer animal rescue group that rescues the old, the young, the injured, neglected, malnourished, abused, and forgotten. They accept all breeds of equines, dogs and small animals. Through Alex's efforts, along with your support, a full truck load of supplies was delivered on February 16th to the Last Chance Ranch. It was estimated that over $800.00 of items made their way to the animals of the ranch. Founder, Lori McCutcheon, was touched and deeply appreciative of the families from Titus Elementary.

Thank you Alex for representing all of us in such a meaningful way!

Titus Talent . . .

Each year various pieces of artwork from students are chosen to be displayed in our community in honor of March being "Youth Art Month." Youth Art Month is designed to promote art & art education among the youth in the United States. This year Titus has several pieces of art on display at Yogurtree in Warrington. Please stop by, grab a nice treat and see some of Titus' young talent on display. Congratulations to the following students whose work has been chosen for the display: Molly Kelch & Abby Maletz (4th grade), Luci Mahar & Gina Egitto (6th grade), Jose Guzman (1st grade), Kaitlyn Spicer & Vaughn Bauer (3rd grade) and Paige Jacobs (5th grade).

We would like to send a special thank you to Jack Lafferty and his staff at Lafferty Chevrolet for their continued support and partnership with Titus Elementary School. The top classrooms will receive added "prizes" for their participation in the Drive as well. Congratulations to:
