Hillsboro - Title 6
Native American/Alaska Native Education Program
May 2022
This past month we have had some wonderful opportunities to connect in person. Each location has been a new site for our families to gather and you can count on us going back in the future. Our goal for next year is a full calendar available earlier in the school year so more families can plan to attend. The newsletter is a great place to get those monthly reminders.
Jenny Sanchez (Title 6 Graduation Coach) continues to support our middle school and high school students. If you have a specific need please email or call Jenny. She is here to help in the school buildings. Catherine Jager(Teacher on Special Assignment) is seeing more students attend the homework club happening Monday thru Thursday at Miller West Campus. She welcomes 8th grade and High School students to take advantage of this space and offers a warm welcome.
Mark your calendars for our last Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) meeting of the year!! We will meet in person on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at 6:30 PM. We will gather together at the district's Pathways center located in downtown Hillsboro. We hope to see you there!
In Solidarity,
Daria, Jenny, and Catherine

Title 6 Family Fieldtrips
Quamash Prairie
Our first field trip in over 3 years was held at a secluded prairie off of Scholl's Ferry Road.
This day was a great way to connect and build community with our families, teachers, and community partners. The sun was an added bonus too! Every participant received a Camas plant to add to their home landscape. Sign up for the next field trip to this special place. You will not regret it!
This event is made possible by the partnership of the Confluence Project, Metro Parks, Lower Columbia Estuary Project, and Friends of Trees.
Cook Park
This event is made possible by the partnership of the Confluence Project, Portland All Nation Canoe Family, Metro Parks, and Lower Columbia Estuary Project. We are so thankful for the resources and staff you provided to make this experience possible.
