As we approach the midterm of the semester and you all start thinking about summer plans and graduation, please feel free to meet with me for any career questions. We can talk about internships, full-time roles, graduate school, applying to your Grady major, and more.
Check out info below on how to intern with our office next year, a workshop we're hosting tonight and additional programming throughout the next few weeks that might interest you.
This newsletter will be a way for me to share career-related information. This includes Career Center events, events and other ways to connect with employers, ways to gain experience for your resume, and other career tips. Be on the lookout for it every other week.

Drop-Ins Schedule
Career Center drop-in hours in the Journalism Building have resumed on the regular schedule. They will be every Tuesday and Wednesday from 1-3 p.m. in Journalism, Room 309-D. Drop-ins are 10-15-minute meetings, with students seen on a first-come, first-served basis.
Topics that can be discussed can be anything career-related, including job/internship search, resumes, cover letters, networking, replying to communications with employers, major choice/Grady application process, part-time jobs, applying to grad school, quick interview prep and any other similar concerns.
Journalism Building drop-ins will continue on these days (unless otherwise noted via email) until the last day of classes, Wednesday, April 25.
If these times don’t work with your schedule, the Career Center hosts drop-in hours in Clark Howell Hall every day from 12-2 p.m.
Intern with the Career Center Next Year!
The UGA Career Center is seeking candidates for the Career Development Internship for the upcoming 2018 – 2019 school year! We are looking for hardworking students interested in using their creativity and skills to facilitate Career Center operations. The application is open to rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors of all majors.
Grady students are strongly encouraged to apply, as there are regular needs in the Career Center for marketing and communications of 50+ events each semester.
The current CDI team will be hosting an information session on Monday, February 26th from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM at Tate 137. Please do not hesitate to attend if you are interested in this paid, part-time experiential learning opportunity.

Diversity and Inclusion in the Workplace Workshop!
Thursday, February 22

Your ability to interact with people who are different from you is an important skill that employers seek in employees. During this interactive session, you will learn how to:
- Recognize how identity and the challenges associated with discussing identity in the workplace
- Identify aspects of an inclusive work environment
- Understand the benefits and the challenges of employee privilege
- Utilize strategies and resources for addressing diversity related issues in the workplace
- Understand the benefits and challenges of employee privilege
This event will count toward Arch Ready credit for spring 2018.

Receive assistance with resumes, statements of interest, cover letters, job search strategies, interviewing, applying to graduate school and any other career-related topics. Printed copies of materials are preferred.

Samantha Meyer Bio
Samantha joined the UGA Career Center in December 2014 as a Career Consultant for the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication. Samantha is a proud "Double Dawg" and Grady graduate, with Bachelor's degrees in public relations and women's studies, and a Master's degree through the Grady ADPR 4+1 program. During her time as a student at the University of Georgia, Samantha was on UGA's PRSSA Bateman team and was a member of the Demosthenian Literary Society, as well as the Women's Studies Student Organization, where she helped plan the annual Athens Take Back the Night event. She is delighted to be able to work with Grady students. Go Dawgs!
