Every two years, the District surveys students on a variety of health and wellness topics. The District will participate in the Oregon Student Wellness Survey (SWS) which provides information about social development and health risk behaviors of students. The survey includes questions about tobacco, alcohol, and drug use, harassment and fighting, mental health, and interactions with peers and school staff. The survey is to be administered between February 1st and April 8th in a paper and pencil format and takes around 45 minutes. As in the past, parents may elect to have their child not participate in the survey. A preview of the survey for parents is available in the links at the right. Please distribute the opt out information to parents of 6th and 8th grade students after you insert into the letter at the bottom of page 1 your due date for opting out.
