Each week, please see below for the skills our class will be studying. Anything that you can do to support them at home is appreciated! You may notice that we spend more than one week on particular skills as they are meant to take longer than one week to cover in class.

Reading & Writing Skills of the Week
Reading:
- Using patterns in books to read harder books
- Similarities and difference between books on the same topic
- How does an author support their points?
- What are the key details in the book?
Writing:
- Using a checklist to help you write a story
- Beginning a sentence with a capital
- Capitalizing the pronoun "I"
- Ending punctuation
Math Skills of the Week
Counting
- Counting to 100 by ones and tens
Numbers
- Comparing numbers between 0-10; "Is this number greater/less/ more than that number?"
- Comparing sets of objects to decide which is greater/less or has more/less.
Categories
- Sort objects into categories/groups and and count amount in each group.
Science & Social Studies Skills of the Week
Science
- Objects in the day & night sky
- How the sky changes from day to night
Social Studies
- Martin Luther King, Jr's contributions and character traits
How to Log-on to eClass
1) Visit: https://publish.gwinnett.k12.ga.us/gcps/home/gcpslogin
2) Type in your child's student number (200....)
3) Their password is their initials, the month of their birthday, and the day of their birthday (i.e. mine would be lw1224)
