Don't Change our District Assessments!
Kindergarten through Third Grade -> BE DIMP!
With the shift to full-day kindergarten, the expectation is that all students end the year at a level D. All first graders end the year at a level I. All second graders end the year at a level M. All third graders end the year at a level P. Dr. Broncato places great emphasis on this goal and we will do all that we can to ensure that goal is realized. It is best for kids.
Whether you are working with students in small groups or they are getting Title I services, we need a PLUS One mentality. If F&P shows they are reading at a level H, we support them in a level I. Those levels increase through the year. No child should sit at the same level for a long period of time, otherwise, our instruction is not meeting their needs. Students should move 3 levels in a year.

PAX Game is STOIC!
- Determine what you want to improve
- Gather baseline data (how often does what you want improved occur without any intervention - don't tell students you are counting as you want to find a number of typical occurances)
- Talk with students about what the optimal behavior looks like, sounds like, and feels like
- Choose a handful of rewards that kids want (free and last 1-3 minutes)
- Choose the number of SPLEEMS you will allow during a set amount of time (a period, a morning/afternoon, a day - based on your baseline data)
- Start the game! A PAX for positive behavior. A SPLEEM for negative behavior
- Reward the class when they win!
This is one way to correct fluently and it aligns with CHAMPS. It is not mandatory. But, speaking from experience, it is very effective! The game embeds the S, T, O, I, and C!!!!
