Career Portfolio Books Pick-up
Career Portfolios are available to be picked up at the Extension Office at any time.
State Fair Entry Tickets Available - Due August 9th!
4-H & FFA State Fair Livestock Entries & In-Person Contest Entries due August 10
FFA and 4-H are sharing an online entry system and are allowing exhibitors/parents to make the entries for the State Fair again this year. The link to create your entries is: http://www.statefair.org/p/getinvolved/4h-ffa.
4-H and FFA exhibitors and their families are responsible for submitting all livestock entries online this year. This includes:
- 4H and FFA Livestock entries
- 4H Companion Animal entries
- 4H Dog entries
- 4H Dog Skillathon entries
- 4H and FFA Premier Exhibitor entries
Registration opens on July 1. All livestock entries must be submitted no later than 5:00 pm Central Time on August 10, 2016. A credit or debit card is required to submit entries. If you would like help with your entries, please come to the Extension Office and we are happy to help you complete them! Make sure to ask questions if you aren’t sure about something.

- 16 - 20 oz bottles of Coke
- 16 - 20 oz bottles of Dr. Pepper
- 7 - 20 oz bottles of Diet Dr. Pepper
- 18 - 20 oz bottles of Diet Coke
- 21 - bottles of red Powerade
- 2 - bottles of blue Powerade
The pop can be purchased for $1.00 per bottle and the Powerade is $1.25 per bottle. Please let us know if you are interested in any of these items.

Farm Safety Day Camp - August 4th!!!
The Progressive Agriculture Safety Day is for students who will be entering Kindergarten through seventh grades. It will be held on Thursday, Aug. 4, from 8:15 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds. Registration will be open from 7:45 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. Please do not bring children earlier than 7:45 a.m.
This fun-filled day will include demonstrations/discussions of 10 safety topics, including 8 sessions, a lunch program and a closing program.
Applications will be available at the Nebraska Extension office along with other area businesses. Applications must be submitted by July 28 to receive the early registration discount.
A non-refundable fee of $5 per child or $10 per family includes lunch, snacks, speakers, t-shirt, and freebies. The fee must accompany the application. After the early registration deadline the fee will be $7 per child with no family discount available. Lunch will be provided. Checks should be made to Jefferson County Farm Safety 4 Just Kids.
