Principal's Message

It's hard to believe we are in the last week of February! Hopefully March will bring some of that spring weather to us sooner rather than later! February has been a busy month and concluded this week with our etiquette lunches for the 6th grade students. We had two great days of both learning and eating a great meal served by the Crawfordsville Country Club! We thank the Montgomery County Community Foundation for organizing and making this event possible for our students. You can see a few pictures below of the event. March 6th will mark the end of the 3rd nine weeks. Please work with your student at home to review grades and missing assignments and communicate with teachers as needed.

Assistant Principal's Message

Is your student running low on classroom materials such as notebooks, pencils, or folders? Maybe your student needs another binder? Our store located in the cafeteria (Athenian Central) has these items and more at great prices.

In addition to school supplies, Athenian Central also has many fun items. From necklaces and bracelets to Tuttle spirit wear, our store has a variety of options for students.

Students have access to this store during lunch every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. They can use cash for school supplies or Athenian Bucks they earn from teachers for displaying great character traits around responsibility, respect, kindness and more.

Encourage your student to stop by!

Counselor's Message

7th and 8th Grade Parents: If you qualify for free and reduced lunches, this is the time of year that you need to register your child for the 21st Century scholarship program. This is a financial need based scholarship that will support your student their 4 years at CHS. This is the only scholarship that has to be applied for before they begin high school. They have to be signed up before they leave CMS or June 30th 2020. This scholarship pays for up to 100% of tuition to Indiana Public Colleges/Universities/trade schools and technical programs. All of those tuitions can cost thousands of dollars to your child. Please do not miss the deadline and enroll while you have your current 2019 W2 forms. Please see more detailed information below.

CMS Success Stories

6th Grade Etiquette Luncheon

Monday and Tuesday this week CMS 6th grade students attended an etiquette luncheon sponsored by the Montgomery County Community Foundation hosted at the Crawfordsville Country Club. Students enjoyed a great meal served by the CCC and learned many social etiquette skills, as well as social media responsibility and etiquette from professional presenter Christie Pate Herron with her own founded company Excellence with Etiquette. This is our second year with this event and it was another great success and opportunity for CMS students!
