Pre K through 2nd Grade Center Visits
January ❄️
After reading Mother Bruce I introduced the Spring Reading Challenge and students participated in animal themed PIC Stations
Before reading Lemonade Stand in Winter I reminded students how to take care of devices:
- How to plug and unplug headphones safely
- How to hold and carry iPads & laptops
After reading students used their knowledge of coins and coin values to pay, using fake money of course, to visit lemon themed PIC Stations.
February 💖
Our second lesson is the week before Read Across America. So I will read a Dr. Seuss book and we will have silly Seussy PIC Stations.
March 🌷
For the second A Week (March 30-April 4) students will participate in Virtual Reality Google Expeditions.
3rd through 5th Grade Center Visits
January ❄️
- Game Changers, The True Story of Venus & Serena Williams by Lesa Cline-Ransome
- Crown: An Ode to the Fresh Cut by Derrick Barnes & Gordon C. James
I also introduced the Spring Reading Challenge to all 3rd-5th grade students and students participated in PIC Stations.
During the second B Week in January (1/20-1/24), I read the final two of five Bluebonnet Books students needed to qualify to be able to vote.
- The Boo Boos that Changed the World (The True Story of an Accidental Invention, REALLY!) by Barry Wittenstein
- The Dragon Slayer Folktales from Latin America by Jaime Hernandez
Then students voted on their favorite 2019-2020 Bluebonnet Book and enjoyed fun learning PIC Stations.
February 💗
The second B Week (2/17-2/21) is all about love and kindness. I will read the book Love, Z by Jessie Zima. This is a sweet book about discovering what love means. We will have a Valentine themed photo booth and PIC stations are kindness/love themed.
