High Expectations:
Every Scholar, Every Day
A Word from Principal Haynes
Greetings Parents,
Thank you parents for your SUPPORT by attending our School Advisory Council Meeting this week!! It was a great way for you to know what is happening at the school and understand what we are doing to make Village Elementary a GREAT school again!
Thank you also to the MANY parents who donated sidewalk chalk for our "Chalk for Peace" project! It could not have been possible without your help!! Below are just a few of the great pieces that were done--we will have pages in our yearbook dedicated to this event. Thank you again!!
Dads Take Your Child to School Day is coming on Wednesday, September 26th. This is a great event for our fathers, uncles, brothers, grandfathers to participate in by bringing a scholar to school. We will have donuts available and will distribute those to our male figures bringing scholars to school. We hope you will join us!!
From time to time, we will have Spirit Days where scholars can dress out of uniform. This week, we are recognizing Start with Hello Week in Broward County. This week was started by parents of the victims of the mass shooting at the elementary school in Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, CT. The Sandy Hook Promise aims to help teach scholars to reach out to and include those who may be dealing with chronic social isolation. On Friday, after a series of events, we want to celebrate the conclusion of this week by having everyone wear green to say it's a GO for Hello!! Scholars can be out of uniform if wearing green. Remember, scholars are expected to be in uniform daily unless we are having a special event.
Wishing you an AMAZING and BLESSED week!!
Principal Haynes

By: Ms. Crichlow, School Counselor/Ms. Roberson, ESE Specialist
As the School Counselor and ESE Specialist, we often work together, which is why we have decided to collaborate on the monthly contributions together. When your students see us working together, they are watching a form of cooperation!
This week, we are focusing on September’s character trait and skill, cooperation. Being taught and practicing cooperation at home helps children become more confident, independent and sets the foundation for positive interaction with others.
The link to the short article below focuses on small children, but the ideas and tips also work for elementary aged students.
