Seeking Donations For....

...iPad chargers. We are short iPad chargers in the library. Before purchasing chargers, it was suggested we synergize with our parent community to see if they have an extra one at home. We will graciously accept iPad charger donations in the office.

Occasional Bunny Rabbit Visit

As stated in the LVJUSD Board Policy, BP 6163.2, written notification must be provided to all parents/guardians of students when an animal is brought to school. It is the responsibility of the parent to provide notification of a health condition that may be aggravated by the animals’ presence.

Principal Starkovich has a 6 year old bunny (Toby) who is very calm and friendly. He will be visiting Lawrence Elementary a few times a month. Touching/seeing him is optional. If you would like your child to “opt out” of interaction with Toby the rabbit, please notify kstarkovich@lvjusd.org by April 10, 2023.

2023 LES Read-a-Thon

LABRADORS! You read SO MANY BOOKS and you raised SO MUCH MONEY!

We cannot thank all of the students and their families for their hard work in raising nearly $20,000 for our school! The Read-A-Thon was a HUGE SUCCESS and we are excited to share the details! We had so much awesome information to share, it won’t fit in the Lowdown! Please watch your emails for all of the details!

Missoula Children's Theatre

Great work to all our performers and to our parent volunteers who have worked diligently to make this happen! Our Labrador thespians have been hard at work in preparations for Saturday’s performance of Rumpelstiltskin. There are a few tickets left for the 1pm performance at Livermore High School, please click here to reserve your tickets for the show before they sell out. https://rumpelstiltskin-les-2023.cheddarup.com

Livermore Learns TK/Kinder Readiness Parent Tip Sheets

Livermore Learns TK/Kinder Readiness Parent Tip Sheets & Webinar Links: For new families enrolling for TK or Kinder next year, we have created TK/Kinder readiness tips sheets in English and Spanish that include QR codes to our recent Livermore Learns webinars on the topic. These resources help parents to teach and reinforce the social, behavioral, and academic skills students should practice prior to starting school in the fall! Click here for flyers.

Portola & Enos Crosswalk Improvements & Construction

We are pleased to let our Lawrence community know that the Portola and Enos crosswalk project is now at 95% design, with the final design to be completed this month. The construction phase is tentatively set to begin in April and finished by September of 2023.

This safer crossing and flashing beacons will help to slow down traffic along Portola, while improving the safety and visibility of our walking and rolling community. If you are a resident within a 1/4 mile of the crosswalk, you will also receive a fact sheet from the City as a part of their community outreach within the next two weeks. Please also take a look at the project here on the City's website.

Thank you for the many efforts from our community members who have helped advocate for this crosswalk enhancement, LVJUSD Trustee Kristie Wang, the Livermore City Council, the Livermore Police Department, the Livermore Engineering Department, and Alameda County Safe Routes to School.
