2019-2020 Schedule Update
Many changes will still take place in the coming week as counselors meet with students and families during registration. Due to the uniqueness of this year we will be adjusting up to the start of school. If you have a specific question or concern, don't hesitate to reach out to me. tidwela@live.siouxcityschools.com
As the schedule falls into place I will then be able to assign teacher duties. This will be communicated by your first day back. We will hold meetings to go over specific duty expectations to answer questions and outline details.
The Master Schedule with assigned duties will be available in Canvas on Monday the 19th.

Important Canvas Information
All Canvas courses are now available for the 2019-20 school year.
I have pushed out all Assessments to the teachers’ new courses.
- DCAs (District Common Assessments; formerly called MP Exams or Common Assessments)
- MS Literacy Assessments
- Math BME
- Open Response
* If teachers do not see any of the assessments in their courses and expect to, then please send me a link to the course missing the assessments immediately so I can correct this issue.
Teachers can import content from previous courses into their 2019-20 courses. After importing old content, teachers should delete any old assessments listed above. You will see the new assessments I pushed out will have a lock beside them and teachers will be unable to delete them from the Assignments and Quizzes area. Teachers will be unable to rename the Assignment/Quiz or change the questions within a Quiz.
Teachers could remove what I push out from a Module, but the assessment still will not be removed from the Assignments or Quizzes area. Also, the option to Duplicate an assessment cannot be locked or turned off. Teachers could possibly Duplicate a District Common Assessment and then rename it which would create a big problem with reporting assessment results.
***DO NOT duplicate a District Common Assessment***
NEW GRADEBOOK: The “New” Canvas Gradebook that was an option for the past 2 years, will now be mandatory as the legacy gradebook is being permanently disabled. Below are some guides to help teachers that haven’t used the New Gradebook yet.
