10th-12th graders-- Finish Strong!

Since 10th - 12th graders classes on the block, these first semester classes are about to end. Be sure to finish strong, complete all assignments, and take your Final test seriously. Passing grades will earn the first ever MVS high school credits!

Weekly Progress Reports by Email

Starting this week, we will be sending out a weekly progress report with current grades and attendance. This is the same information you can get by logging into the PowerSchool parent portal, but hopefully it will just be a simple reminder of your child's progress. If you want to see specific assignment grades, you may still login to PowerSchool. If you have a question about a grade or have an attendance question, please reach out to the teacher via email.

PreACT Scores coming by Mail

Sophomores who sat for the PreACT on October 26th will be receiving their scores in the mail this week. Be on the lookout for a large manilla envelope that contains the score report and the student test. These sophomores will be able to see what questions they missed and the right answers. This is a great way to get familiar with the testing set up and start to prepare for the the ACT.

New Cell Phone Policy

We are instituting a new cell phone policy for students who are invited in to the Academic Support Center to work on assignments. Students may bring their cell phones with them to the ASC, but cell phones need to stay stowed away out of site in back backs or pockets. The exception to this will be to contact a parent for pick up or listen to music through headphones while working (unless the work is something that needs to be listened to). Students who do not follow this policy will be asked to place their phone the teacher's desk or to work from home.

High School Testing- End of Course (10th, 11th, and 12th graders only)

Some 10th, 11th, and 12th graders are scheduled to come in to MVS for state testing during the next few weeks. Please see schedule below. Students need to arrive on time, as testing will start on the stated times. These tests are all computer-based, so please come with a fully charged laptop and your charger. End times are approximate, and students can work in the ASC after testing and/or call parents when they are ready to be picked up. If your child is testing, be looking for a reminder email closer to the date. Note that student cell phones must be turned off and set on the teacher's desk before testing begins.
