Message from the Principals

Greetings Dozier Families!

We hope all of our Dozier Ducks had a wonderful start to the 2021-2022 school year. We welcomed 667 ducks into our building and couldn't be more excited to see each and every one of them.


We want to thank our families for your support and patience during the first couple of days of drop-off and pick-up as we fine tuned our procedures to make things run more smoothly. We appreciate you!

Daily Schedule

7:05 AM – Doors open. Students will go directly to their homeroom classroom or stop by the cafeteria for breakfast. Students eating breakfast will be allowed to eat in the cafeteria if they arrive prior to 7:20AM. After 7:20AM the students will pick up a “Breakfast in a Bag” from the cafeteria and take it to class.


7:30 AM – School starts. If a student enters the school building after 7:30 AM, they will be counted tardy.


2:15 PM – Due to end of the day procedures, please make every attempt to report ride changes before 2:15 PM. It is extremely difficult to ensure teachers receive messages after 2:15 PM. Additionally, if your child requires an early dismissal, please make every attempt to check them out before 2:15 PM.


2:40 - Dismissal


2:55 PM – If you arrive after 2:55 PM, you will be required to sign-out your child in the office. This does not apply to students staying after school for pre-arranged tutorials or practices.

Boosterthon

We are so excited to bring back the Boosterthon Duck Run for the 2021-2022 school year. The Duck Run raises money to pay for the transportation portion of all field trips as well as other instructional items for the students.


The Duck Run will be held Tuesday, August 31st. The run will be held outside in the field outside of the gym. Please send your student with a water bottle for this event.

Please fill out the visitor Fast Pass form below if you plan to attend to watch your student participate in the Duck Run. This will assist us in being planned with your visitor badge for when you arrive to campus. You will need to show your ID to pick up your visitors badge from the front office.

Volunteers - Background Checks

Volunteers are given an assignment or task dealing directly with children other than their own while on campus or school-sponsored trips. Volunteers must complete the Volunteer Application and have an annual criminal history check completed by the District on file.


Our students benefit from the many volunteer hours that our parents and community members invest in our schools. For the safety of our students, we require all volunteers to complete a volunteer application and we run a name-based, state-wide criminal history check on all applicants. The background check must be completed and approved before volunteering. Parent/guardian volunteers will be also be processed through the district’s Raptor visitor system, which scans your driver's license each time you come to campus. All volunteers are required to reapply each year.

Dozier Elementary PTA

When you join PTA, you join a community that encourages student achievement and enriches the learning environment. We believe in building partnerships between our families and our school. We believe TOGETHER we can help our children be successful. Each membership is only $7.00. During Meet the Teacher the PTA will be offering a T-Shirt/Membership combo for $15.00.

Checking Bus Routes and Pick Up Times:

1. Visit the website below.

2. Click on EMS Bus Transportation Portal to find your child's bus route.

3. Enter the student's user ID and password

4. Parents will be prompted to confirm an email address and create a security questions/answer.

5. Click - work with students

6. Click - view my students. Select student name.

You should be redirected to a screen with your student's bus route information.

Grade Level Lunch Times

We are happy to welcome visitors back into the building for the 2021-2022 school year. Please remember that you must always show your Valid ID upon checking in with the office staff. Please check with your child's teacher for the exact lunch times. The times listed below are blocks and each teacher has a time within the block.


Kinder - 10:30 - 11:05
First Grade - 11:00 - 11:35
Second Grade - 12:00 - 12:35

Third Grade - 12:30 - 1:05

Fourth Grade - 11:30-12:05
Fifth Grade - 1:00 - 1:30

As a LiiNK campus, we use a heat index chart which combines temperature and humidity to determine safe weather for outdoor play. Please see the chart below.

Safety & Security Protocols

EMS ISD has adopted safety and security protocols from the I Love You Guys Foundation.


1. Standard Response Protocol for K-12 Schools - This protocol is based on five actions: Secure, Lockdown, Evacuate, Shelter, and Hold.


2. Standard Reunification Method for K-12 Schools - This protocol outlines a reunification method for a school crisis or emergency. There are links below of each protocol.


All Dozier Elementary staff members were trained in both protocols during our in-service week. Students will be trained in the Standard Response Protocol throughout the school year.
