Buzz...

Families,

Thank you for your patience as we figure out details of what 2020-2021 looks like. Teachers are returning to work on Monday, August 31. By mid week, next week, you should hear from your child's teacher with details about logistics and how the year will look. Mrs. Plew will be sharing about how to check out and pick up/drop off books.

Wifi Survey: Families, we plan to come to you in the fall with supports for small groups of students in the neighborhoods. We would like to offer human interaction, education support, tech support. In order to do the tech support, we will need access to wifi. The wifi access would be used to help a student troubleshoot their device or learn an academic concept that they are struggling with, or help a parent apply for free lunch. If you are willing to share your wifi with us an hour a day, please fill out this survey.

Technology Updates

All students will be charged a $20 insurance for the device. You can pay the fee, opt out if you qualify for free or reduced lunch, or not pay. The $20 insurance covers loss or damage.

Kindergarten through second grade families: We will be lending out iPads for K-2 students to use for the 2020-2021 school year. iPads will be distributed though your child's teacher. If you have a device to return, you may bring it when picking up the iPad. Details coming soon.

Student Chromebook Login Change:

Beginning September 8, students will use their full BSD email address to log into a chromebook (ex. 12345@bsd48.org). This provides increased account security improvements. Setup, login instructions and answers to general support questions can be found on the FAQ page.

Builder/artist requested

Does anyone have skills to rebuild the sign in front of the school? We are looking to have the sign replaced, and it is out of our budget. The foundation is metal and sturdy. The wood is rotted. Ideas? Email us.
