November 2023

Message from Mrs. Yost
Happy Fall! October was busy and November seems to be just as busy! Thank you to our PTO and families for making our Trunk or Treat such a spooktacular event for our students. The "trunks" were amazing! The creativity behind each booth was outstanding! This brought so much joy to our children! We had perfect weather for our annual Halloween Parade! so many great costumes and smiling faces, too!
We need your support! Please join us for the Cook Hill vs Parker Farm Staff kickball game Monday, November 6th at Community Lake. Your cheers and smiles are welcomed! Help us honor our Veterans by wearing your Red, White & Blue on Monday, November 13th. It is also World Kindness Day that day, so wearing blue is welcomed, too. We are thrilled to host an in-person Veterans Day celebration. Our honorees are scheduled to arrive at 9:15am for some coffee and refreshments. Our Cougars are working hard preparing our school-wide assembly at 9:30am. Thank you in advance for those that are able to attend.
A HUGE thank you to our families for supporting the Lyman Pie and Beaumont Farms fundraisers. Your efforts do not go unnoticed. Money raised goes directly to our school community. Our teachers have been planning some amazing learning opportunities offsite. Our School Food Drive starts November 13th - December 4th. Our goal is to collect 2,500 non-perishable items. Our Cougars will participate in a fun pajama and movie day prior to launching into our holiday break if we reach our goal. Thank you in advance for your donations.
We are receiving reports that toys are becoming an issue on the bus. Please remind your child to keep their toys at home. Also, our parent pickup door is quite busy at dismissal. We ask that once your child is released to you, to please move to your vehicles or grass area, if socializing with other families. The playground is open for your use, as well. Thank you for your assistance.
With the cooler days upon us, please remember to have our child prepared with the proper attire to go outside - coats, pants, jackets, hats, gloves, etc. Slides are not a safe shoe to be worn to school. Closed toed shoes with a back is the best option.Thank you for your understanding.
As always, feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns.
In Partnership,
Mrs. Yost

Annual Food Drive
Hello Cook Hill School Families,
It is time for the Annual Food Drive. We will be holding a food drive to help support the Wallingford Community. We are collecting any unopened and unexpired nonperishable items. To Celebrate this act of kindness towards our Town Community, we will earn a PJ and Movie Day prior to the winter break in December.
Some examples include, but are not limited to: Canned goods, pasta, rice, tuna, hot/cold cereal, juice, soup, coffee & tea, peanut butter, jelly.
We will be collecting items beginning Monday, November 13th through Tuesday, December, 4th.
There will be drop off locations at the Doors Gym Lobby, Main Office Doors, Kindergarten Doors, and Preschool Entrance. We will be limiting the movement of all items brought into the building to maintain the safety of students and staff. We request that donations be left during school hours, from arrival to dismissal.
Thank you for your support in this time of need!
