Mr. Zimmerman's Room

Goodbye to a Wonderful Year

Is it really almost June 2nd? I cannot believe how fast this year has gone. First, I want to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you for all your support this year. I had an incredible year getting to know you and your children. There have been so many fun moments that I will remember forever. I will deeply miss each and every student. I hope each of your families has a safe and relaxing summer filled with new memories. Please keep in touch as the years continue on.

I hope that I was able to help them learn more this year and realize that they all have amazing potential. More importantly, I hope they were able to feel valued and respected in my classroom. If so, it would be a successful year to me!

Some information for Fritz:

+Lunch next year will be $2.50 (an increase of $0.10)

+Volunteers that help in the classrooms and work with students are required to obtain and submit clearances by July 1, 2016 to the District Office.

Concerts & Geodome

In May, our students were able to participate in the Spring concert for band and orchestra. They all performed so well and made Fritz proud. We hope they continue to pursue music in the future and build their skills.

The Geodome (an inflatable star lab) came to Fritz. Ms. Brunk and myself presented to all 600+ students throughout two days. Our 4th grade classes were able to spend 45 minutes per class learning about the solar system and seeing planets, star, constellations, and more up close!

Safe Harbor: Voted the Best Field Trip!

Our students had a memorable field trip to Safe Harbor Hydroelectric Power Plant. Mrs. Gerber and my class had a beautiful day, whereas Mrs. Griffith and Taraborelli's class had quite the rainy experience. The weather didn't hold back the learning. The students went on a long hike through the woods to experience ecosystems up close. They filled in a scavenger hunt to find, see, smell, and feel as much as possible. Then they were given a tour of the power plant to see the 70 foot generators and watch the river create electricity. They were awe-inspired! I think it will be a day they will remember for a long time.

Zumba & Spring Fair

Last Friday, our 4th graders were offered the opportunity to participate in Zumba, a fitness program put to choreographed dance. The students loved every single minute of it. We hired a local Zumba instructor to come in and help the kids have fun and get some exercise.

If you were at the Spring Fair, you already know how many students and families were there having fun. It was a great night for PTO to raise money for our school field trips and events. We are so thankful for the night to have fun and see our students have a good time.

About Mr. Z

On May 15th, I graduated from Immaculata University with my Master's Degree in Educational Leadership with a concentration in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math). It has been a three year process that I was very excited to complete. My family and I had a great time celebrating the hard work together.
