Author: J.K. Rowling
Illustrator: Kazu Kibuishi
Lead Characters: Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, Dumbledore, Hagrid
What is the storyline or plot?
Harry Potter is in his second year of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. He is visited by a house-elf named Dobby and warned not to go back to Hogwarts. Harry ignores his warning, and returns. He is still famous, although still disliked by Snape, Malfoy, and the rest of the Slytherins. Harry and his friends started to notice strange things happening. People are becoming petrified, and no-one knows what is doing it. Harry keeps hearing a voice.. a voice which seems to be coming from within the walls. They are told the story of the Chamber of Secrets. It is said that only Salazar Slytherin's true descendent will be able to open it. Harry, it turns out, is a Parsel-tongue. This means that he is able to speak/understand snakes. Everyone thinks that it's him that has opened the Chamber of Secrets because that is what Slytherin was famous for.
Did you like this novel? Yes
Your opinion - Why did you like/dislike it? I loved this novel because it was well written and very well rounded; there were no dull moments in the plot and the story line just kept growing and getting better and better.
What was your favorite part? And why?
My favorite part was the ending on the novel where everything happens. I would explain why but it would give away the ending. This was my favorite part because throughout the book you have to guess who is attacking people and at the end of the book it is the person you least expect.
If you could change something what would it be and why?
It's very hard me to think what I would change; this is one of my favorite books and I wouldn't change anything about it.
Did you like the characters?
I loved all the characters even if they were evil; these played a huge role in this novel and made it challeging introducing so many characters having no idea who could be attacking the students.
What is your recommendation?
My recommendation is to read this series because the books keep getting better and better. I recommend this book to people of all ages, its a entertaining book for children to read about Harry potter and his adventures but it also a good book for adults because it a very entertaining and well written book.
