The Great Outdoors
The Alabama Wildlife Federation (AWF) selected West Elementary to receive an AWF 2019-20 Outdoor Classroom Grant in the amount of $1,000. WES teacher, Kelly Hayes submitted the grant application for signage for the garden areas, teacher modules and kits, field journals, and literature/books for the library that correlate with their outdoor lessons/activities.
Welcome to West
Everyone at WES enjoyed meeting the 1st grade students from CCPS this week. Mrs. Culpepper and CCPS teachers have prepared them so well. They used such great manners and were great listeners. WES looks forward to seeing them in August!

EES is so proud of the leadership from this group of students. They led tours for the incoming 2nd graders from Cullman Primary School.
Real World Science
The top 32, Semester 1 science students from CMS recently took advantage of a grant to visit HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology. The had a lesson in micropipetting and took a deeper look at extracting DNA from a strawberry.
Bearcat Tradition
It was great to have Les Kelley, former Cullman Bearcat, Crimson Tide and New Orleans Saints player, back at CHS for a visit. CHS traditions are long and strong!
Let's Go to the Hop
WES 5th grade students went back in time this week for their Sock Hop! The poodle skirts, hair styles, white tees and cuffed jeans were great! Thank you 5th grade teachers for organizing the activities. Thank you parents for your help!
CMAs at CHS
CHS teacher Stacey Tankersley (right) is shown with the five student who passed the Certified Medical Assistant Examination recently. They are graduating high school as certified medical assistants (CMA). What a great accomplishment!
