- Leatherback turtles are named for their shell, which is leather-like rather than hard, like other turtles.
- They are the largest sea turtle species and also one of the most migratory, crossing both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.
- The leatherback turtles are largest turtles in the world. They grow up to be 7ft long and can weigh more than 2,000lbs.
- It is CRITICALLY ENDANGERED!!!!
Endangered Species
The Leather-back Turtle has been endangered for more than 5 years and people don't even know about it!!!! We've been destroying their beaches and polluting their oceans. Yet, we humans say,"I didn't know!" Guess what? There is only 34,000 to 36,000 females that are nesting in the world. Once we tell you, you continue to do the same thing, which is killing them. We need to come together and stop this. We shouldn't continue to be ignorant, we need to pay attention. We need to save OUR ENVIRONMENT!!!
