Lincoln Hill High School
Session 1 Update
LHHS Science NewsThinking Like a Scientist
Science doesn’t claim to have all the answers, but it does work to answer questions. All the science classes this Fall have been working on working through this scientific thinking process (the scientific method). In our classes, we have been using a new format called QCER which stands for Question, Claim, Evidence, and Reasoning. We will be using this format as we do further investigations throughout the year. | Principal's Notes We are very excited about the progress made at LHHS in this first session. We will continue to follow our mantra of Pride, Perseverance, and Progress as we move forward through the rest of this year. Some important dates to keep in mind:
| LHHS History NewsThe History Google Classrooms have notes and makeup opportunities for students absent and is updated daily. Counseling Connections
LA/LHHS Guidance Counselor Christy Thompson, MA MFT
Your hard work as a parent is paying off. You and all you do is vital work to empower your child(ren) in becoming excellent people. Well done. It is hard work! Teens are challenging. They are in the midst of becoming more independent at the same time in need a lot of support which they often decline! It is hard to be a teenager when things are so intense. I am sure you remember your teen years and the struggles. I am in this with you, working to support your child’s social, emotional, and educational health and goals.
I do scheduling to ensure correct course sequencing for graduation; meet with students about various challenges and pressures. I teach more effective coping, communication, planning, and studying skills. I refer students to other professionals who can be helpful. I also do career planning and assist with Running Start and college readiness.
