Start of the School Day Information
Students that arrive after 7:45 are tardy. We begin announcements in the cafeteria at 7:37. Please help your child be in the cafeteria by 7:37 to get them off to a fantastic start each morning. Students that arrive after 7:40 should be dropped off in front of the intermediate office and please remind the students to press the button on the security box for access to our building. Students arriving after 7:45 are tardy.
Security Information
The picture above is a new security feature for our campus. All doors to our school will remain locked when students are here. To come in our building, please press the button on the silver box on the right side of the door. Office staff will be able to see you on camera and let you in the door remotely or speak to you through the speaker. We look forward to you visiting and volunteering on our campus.
Transportation Change Procedure Reminder
We encourage independence here at Lago Vista Intermediate School, and encourage your student to know how they are supposed to get home at the end of the school day. However, if your student's mode of transportation is changing, i.e. from car to bus or bus to car, our staff needs to be made aware of that change.
To ensure accurate transportation information, all transportation changes need to be made through Mrs. Dohm in the front office. Please do not send transportation changes directly to your student's teacher or on a paper note with your student.
All transportation changes need be made by 2:00 pm the day of the needed change.
Help Us Reach Our Goal of 98%
Attendance Percentages this week:
4th Grade: 96.77%
5th Grade: 98.52%
Total: 97.68%
Attendance
One of the easiest things parents can do to help students be successful is make sure students are in school on time everyday. Our school day begins at 7:45. Students who arrive after 7:45 are tardy. Three tardies per nine weeks result in a lunch detention. Please help your student be ready for the day by reminding your child to lay clothes and backpacks out the night before. This will help mornings to be positive and less stressful. Set an alarm to help students get up with plenty of time to eat a healthy breakfast and be prepared for the day. Making attendance a priority helps your child understand the importance of their education. We are so excited to work with your family and your children to help them be successful.
Attendance Reminder
If your child is out of school for any reason, please be sure to inform the front office the reason for the absence. For your convenience, Mrs. Dohm has 2 electronic ways to get her notes:
Email: Lisa_dohm@lagovista.txed.net
Fax: 512-267-8363
Wednesday Folders
Starting this week, we always send home graded work and school information on Wednesdays. Check out your child's folder next Wednesday. Our grading policy allows students to correct work below a 79 with possible credit up to a 79%. Please encourage your child to correct work and return the work to the teacher.

How to Report Bullying or Other Safety Concerns
Lago Vista ISD uses StayALERT to help keep our schools safe. StayALERT is a bilingual, confidential website, e-mail, phone and texting avenue for students, teachers, staff, parents and community members to be able to confidentially report unsafe behaviors, suspicious activities, bullying, acts of violence, harassment, and a host of other potential disruptors to school safety.
Users may anonymously report concerns 24-7-365 via the StayALERT website, an e-mail, a phone call to a recorded and monitored line, or via a text message from a cell phone. Photos and video clips pertaining to the StayALERT report may be included. No special app required!
