Skaggs Elementary Newsletter

Dear Parents,
Winn Dixie Winter Picnic
Please join us for the Winn Dixie Winter Picnic on Wednesday, December 14th. Inspired by the "Pink Party" in the book, we'll have live guitarists, butterscotch lozenges, and hot cocoa to share. Bring a blanket, chairs, and a picnic dinner to enjoy with your family on the front porch. We'll have the doors open so families can take pictures by our Winn Dixie pet shop and Gloria's house & tree.
Reminder: NO Cars at Recess
Due to the safety protocols, we ask that you do NOT stop/park your cars near the playgrounds during recess. We are finding some people watching the children from their cars, and it is difficult for us to tell whether they are families or strangers. We appreciate your support.

Science and Engineering Fair
We invite our Skaggs scientists to prepare for the Elementary Science and Engineering Fair! Though participation in this annual event is voluntary, we want to encourage interested students to take advantage of this opportunity to exhibit their knowledge. At Skaggs Elementary Campus Fair projects will be due Thursday, January 12th; judging will be held on Friday, January 13th. All projects will be turned in to students' homerooms and fair staff will collect them during the day.
Once you submit your interest form, you may begin working on your project. If you choose to participate, it is extremely important to read through the Student Handbook (here) and follow all the guidelines governing the judging of projects.
Contact Jalynn Barron at jalynn.barron@pisd.edu if you have any questions.
