DISTRICT NEWS
Hamilton County to test emergency alert system on September 4
At 9 a.m. on Wednesday, September 4, the Hamilton County Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency (EMHSA) will conduct a county-wide test of the Wireless Emergency Alert system to assess the county’s readiness to alert the public. The test will result in a text-like message, accompanied by a special tone and vibration. It will be sent to all WEA-capable phones in Hamilton County. The message will be live for about 30 seconds and will clearly state that it is a test: “THIS IS A TEST of the Hamilton County Wireless Emergency Alert System. No action required.”
For more information, please visit Hamilton County’s Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency’s website.
