A Message From The Principal
We are wrapping up week 2 of Rotation 3. Please note that we will not be moving any more students from virtual to in-person until the start of rotation 4 which is November 16th. Prior to Christmas break we will review all students' progress and determine placement going into second semester. Placement will be determined based on grades, attendance, and credit attainment.
Please remember that students should be accessing work daily. Students working virtually are expected to log on and engage during normal school hours, meaning a minimum of 3 hours a day. Teachers have posted via Canvas and sent out multiple emails indicating when they are available to assist students with work. Please encourage your student to participate in scheduled zoom calls and help sessions. Grades earned will appear on students transcript.
Lastly, November 3 is a ELearning day for all students throughout the district. Students are expected to work from home. Work can be accessed through Canvas. Teachers will be available to assist students from 11:30-2:30. Encourage your student to access teacher help if they are needing assistance.
Have a great weekend!

ELearning Letter--November 3, 2020---
Dear Parents and Caregivers,
On Tuesday, November 3rd, Warren Township will have a planned eLearning Day for our students across the district. On this day, your student will complete extended learning activities at home, designed by their teachers.
What is eLearning? How does it differ from Virtual Learning?
eLearning is defined as extended learning activities. Extended learning refers to activities that continue the instruction happening in the classroom; it is not the introduction of new concepts. This work is provided by teachers and it is aligned with district curriculum maps. eLearning differs from Virtual Learning in that students will not participate in direct instruction or small group instruction on Zoom and/or CANVAS on this day.
In preparation for this eLearning Day, I wanted to share information with families in advance. Depending on your grade level and learning model, there is unique information to be aware of for Tuesday, November 3.
If your student is:
IN-PERSON, 6th-8th grade, your student will receive their work from their teachers on Canvas for November 3rd. *Students will take their attendance in Canvas on this day.
IN-PERSON, alternating day 9th-12th grade, your student will receive their work from their teachers on Canvas for November 3rd. *Students will mark their attendance in Canvas on this day.
VIRTUAL Kindergarten through 12th grade, your student will receive their work from their teachers on Canvas. *Students will mark their attendance in Canvas on this day. **Indiana Online and APEX Courses should be completed according to pacing guide recommendations.
Activities assigned on Tuesday, November 3rd, will be due by Tuesday, November 10th. Submission of work will be used to mark your student PRESENT for attendance on November 3rd.
All work for the eLearning day will be uploaded to CANVAS by 8:55 AM on November 3rd. If your student needs support from their teacher on their assignments, eLearning support hours will be available from 11:30 AM - 2:30 PM. An email will be sent from your classroom teacher/team to parents sharing their phone number, email and other methods of communication available on November 3rd during eLearning support hours. *Moorhead Community Resource Center will be open from 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM to support your device needs. The technology help desk is located on the north side of the building, door 11, near the playground.
eLearning Days may be used in the event of school closures due to inclement weather. This planned day allows us to ensure that we are employing practices that support the continuation of our students’ learning while providing support.
The Renaissance Team looks forward to supporting our families with our first eLearning Day of the 2020-2021 school year. Please reach out with any questions.

Student Success Handbook!
5-8
Warren Parents and Caregivers, here is the link to our Student Success Handbook. This handbook is updated every year to include information about how we keep students and staff safe at school, along with resources for families to access as well as information on district procedures and policies. This handbook is also shared with students. Please take a moment to review and complete this as acknowledgement that you have received the handbook. Please reach out if you have any questions.
District Covid-19 Data
MSD Warren Township COVID-19 data will be updated and shared each Friday on our district website which can be accessed HERE. Included in this data are the number of positive cases by school/facility as well as the total number of individuals (students and staff) who were required to isolate or quarantine. Individuals that are in isolation may or may not have COVID-19 and may or may not have been exposed within Warren schools/facilities. Isolation and quarantine are used to slow the spread of COVID-19.
**These numbers do not mean that a school or facility is unsafe for students and staff, rather that precautionary steps are being taken to protect all students and staff. We will continue to communicate with staff and families if they are identified as a close contact to a positive COVID-19 case.

School District Publications/News Media Use
The occasion may arise when the school district wants to recognize your child or your child's school. This may include your child's photo, your child's name or your child's work in district publications, newsletters, on school district websites, and in electronic/social media or in staff training videos. We may also want to tell the media (including newspapers, television, and radio) about your child's achievements. We never knowingly release information about a student to anyone who wants to use it for commercial/political purposes. However, we will honor your request to not include your child in these types of recognition if you notify your child's school office in writing that you do not want this type of information released.
Immunizations Reminders
In order for our schools to be in compliance with the state laws regarding immunizations, please make sure that your student(s) have their updated information on file with your school's nursing staff.
Students attending in person must have updated immunization records on file to attend or have communicated to nurse or administration that an appointment has been scheduled. All virtual students vaccines must be on file and up to date by January 4, 2021, to avoid exclusion.
Please make your school's nursing staff aware of any upcoming appointments for vaccines, or if there are any medical or religious objections to your student receiving his or her vaccines
Also, PLEASE inform your school's nurse of any chronic health conditions that the school should be made aware of, and that your student's medical emergency information is up to date.

New Student Information System-- Synergy
Warren is excited to announce that we have upgraded to a new student information system called Synergy. This means that our old parent portal, Tyler, will be going away. Instead, the parent portal will be upgraded to Synergy’s ParentVUE. ParentVUE is an online tool to help you monitor your student’s education. It allows you to update contact information and provides you with access to the latest information about your child’s attendance and scheduling. Our middle and high school families can view class assignments, report card grades, and course history with ParentVUE.
Once ParentVUE is available, parents who have a previous Tyler account will receive an email with instructions about setting up your new username and password. If you do not have a Tyler SIS account, please complete a registration form located on our parent portal webpage and return it to your school to begin the process of activating your account.
ParentVUE is a great way to stay connected with your student's school and track their academic progress. It also helps us stay in contact with you!
Chromebooks! Please Bring Your Device Daily!
In an attempt to keep students safe we are asking that students bring their individual devices from home to school daily. There will be no sharing of Chromebooks. Chromebooks will not be available in classrooms. Students will need to bring their devices, charging chords, and cases everyday to school.
