Weekly Staying Connected, July 3
Major's Moment
I'm sitting in front of the TV working on the newsletter. I pause and take in what I'm seeing play on the my screen. They are beautiful scenes of God's creation. Mountains, trees, and sparkling water show just how creative God. The drone videos zoom slowly over each scene - amazing! It made me feel so relaxed and calm. Then I realized the music that was playing in the background was a big surprise.
The familiar instrumentals of Christmas songs such as "What Child is This" and "Silent Night" were the soundtrack to these sights. I thought it was so interesting to hear these songs outside of November and December. It was almost strange that they were being played without a nativity seen or Christmas lights in the background, but as the the backdrop to this unique beauty. It was a great reminder that our wonderful Creator even thought of the most unique solution to our constant state of being ... Jesus Christ with us, Emmanuel. Salvation, life everlasting with Him, freedom from sin and shame! What a good God!
This Independence Day, let's also recognize our birth in Christ.

France and Belgium Prayer Requests
The Salvation Army, USA Western Territory
Office of the Spiritual Life Development Secretary
Greetings Friends!
I am pleased to forward you the Prayer Focus requests for July 2022. This initiative of turning our thoughts and prayers towards the same part of the world at some point in the same week is a beautiful way to unite us as a global Army family and I thank you for the commitment that you each give to this.
This July, we will be praying for the following territories:
04 - 10 July France and Belgium Territory
11 – 17 July India Northern Territory
18 – 24 July Japan Territory
25 – 31 July Kenya West Territory
Territorial leaders: Colonels Jacques and Claude-Evelyne Donzé
Prayer requests:
The officers and leaders of the France and Belgium territory are grateful for the prayers of our international Salvation Army family.
Transitions
We ask that you pray for our officers who are moving this July, that transitions for them personally and in their ministry will be God-infused with treasures they could not otherwise expect or imagine.
Our territory has significant changes occurring at THQ within the executive leadership of both the Congregation and Foundation teams due to retirements and international moves. Please pray for Holy Spirit power to intercede for the blessing and binding together of these new teams.
COVID
The 5th wave of covid has washed over a number of our active officers. Please pray for restoration of their health. We pray that they will take time to heal fully and not race back into action preventing full health renewal.
Covid has also impacted our corps ministries in France and Belgium as it has around the globe. Please pray for our ministry teams to lean into God to hear the voice of the Holy Spirit as He unfolds insights into the way forward. May each ministry accept the spiritual challenge not to return to the past, rather to press forward for the glory of God and salvation of humanity.
UKRAINE RESPONSE
We are a territory that is receiving refugees from the Ukraine. Please pray for clarity for us in how to move forward in caring for these individuals and families as we embrace them. We desire to care for their needs so that they feel that they are valued as people, that they belong in community where safety can be felt and that the love of God is experienced.
Thank you for your intentional prayers for our territory.
