Washington D.C. Field Trip News

A few spots have opened up for the D.C. field trip. If you have reconsidered and would like for your 7th or 8th grade student to go on this fantastic trip to our nation's capital, please contact Miss Paradis. The total cost for the trip is $650. The last two payments for the D.C. trip are December 16th and January 20th. If you are behind on your payment schedule, please send in your payment as soon as possible. For more information and access to important DC Trip documents, use this link.

All students going on the D.C. field trip need to complete the Google form for T-shirts, roommates, and social security numbers for the Pentagon. It is very important that this information is completed by January 20th!

Science News

Mrs. Koch - 6th grade science students are working on a STEAM project called Save the Penguins during which they are learning about thermodynamics and heat transfer through the engineering design process. After exploring all the ways heat can transfer, the students are testing the materials they will use to design and build a house for an ice penguin. They will test their designs in a "hot box" in which they hope their penguins will not melt. If they melt, it's back to the drawing board!

Mr. Burdette - 7th grade students have been studying cells. They have learned about diffusion and osmosis, and they are about to learn about mitosis next week.

Mr. Parker - 8th grade students have been studying electromagnetic waves and the eye. Next week, they will conduct labs on electromagnetic waves.

All of the science classes participated in Hour of Code activities with Mrs. Spencer in the Media Center this past week!
